Sandy Allen spent her life overcoming the physical and social barriers that came with being the world's tallest woman.

Born with a tumor on her pituitary gland, she reached 7 feet, 7 1/4 inches. But on Wednesday, she lost her fight against illness at age 53.

Manuel Uribe has already shed 529 pounds, but he wants to lose another 421 pounds to break the record. His other goals: marrying his girlfriend and having a family.

A man running from police officers was impaled on a 7-foot fence.

Police said the 19-year-old man, riding an all-terrain vehicle, collided with a police car and took off running.

Police said the man tried to jump over a metal fence near South 22nd and Dickinson streets about 6:20 p.m. Police are investigating whether he impaled himself jumping the fence or was pulled over the fence by officers trying to arrest him.

Bernann McKinney, 57, became the first paying customer of commercial cloning this week after forking out $53,000 to have her pit bull "Booger" cloned five times in South Korea.

A media investigation has revealed that McKinney almost certainly is the same woman who 30 years ago was accused of kidnapping a Mormon man and forcing him to have sex with her, skipping bail before she could be tried for the crime.

A Missouri woman says she has found Jesus in a bag of Cheetos. When Kelly Ramey opened a snack-sized bag of Cheetos, she felt something unusual and checked it out.

Most of her family and friends believe it looks like a mini orange sculpture of Jesus on the cross. Ramey and her husband call it "Cheesus." Others see something completely different.

Ten weeks ago, a family from Goshen, Indiana rescued two kittens after their mother abandoned them.

The family noticed one of the kittens, Sissy, had markings on her fur that look like Jesus.

The annual 12-hour lawnmower race in Pulborough, England saw little grass cut as the bladeless mowers raced through the night.

This year's race was dubbed 'The grass roots of motor sports' and 56 teams battled overnight from 8 p.m. on Saturday (July 26th) to 8 a.m. on Sunday (July 27th) to claim top honours in the most prestigious lawnmower race on the planet.

A plumber working on restaurant renovations in Salinas said he found the image of the Virgin Mary in a floor drain Wednesday.

The man was working on the drainage system for the upcoming Old Town Bar & Grill restaurant, which is housed in the same building as a former Spados restaurant, when he noticed the strange image.The building has seen several ventures come and go in the past six years since Spados closed down, and the new owner said he sees the sign as a blessing of hope for the new restaurant.
